General Education Outcomes

The general education curriculum builds a foundation of knowledge that allows for a broad understanding of life; it also defines and promotes effective communication and critical thinking skills that create for the student the basis for making learning a lifelong goal.

IHCC is committed to preparing its students for a challenging future. The Career and Technical Education divisions at the college facilitate learning so that students can excel in their chosen professions, while Arts and Sciences students learn the essentials necessary for them to succeed in advanced post-secondary educational attainment. Co-curricular programming enhances the student experience and in collaboration with the academic offerings, develops skills and knowledge every student shoudl possess.

General education courses, co-curricular programming and activities are designed to impart common knowledge, intellectual concepts and attitudes that every educated person should possess.
