Disability Services/Accommodations
Individuals with disabilities who require accommodations or special services should contact IHCC Student Disability Services for assistance. Services are available to students who need classroom or testing accommodations, sign language interpreters, and/or specialized equipment. All student requests are handled confidentially.

Students requesting accommodations must provide documentation of their disability. This should be a written statement signed by a school counselor, physician, psychologist, or other qualified health care provider. The documentation must include: (a) a description of the disability, (b) how the disability affects one or more major life activities and presents a barrier to the student?s full participation in the program, and (c) a description of the specific accommodations being requested. Accommodations must be directly related to the student?s documented disability.

Students should make requests for accommodations as soon as they register for classes. Requests should be made for each term. Requests for accommodations or adjustments to existing accommodations can be made at any time, but approved or adjusted accommodations are not retroactive.
