Offered at North Campus

The Avionics Electronic Technician program is a three-term (nine-month) program that trains students to operate, service, troubleshoot, and repair the principal avionics systems carried in today’s passenger, cargo, business-class, and general aviation aircraft. This program can also be taken concurrently with the Aviation Maintenance AAS. The program curriculum begins with the fundamentals of electronics and its applications in all categories of avionics systems. Students will have the opportunity to remove and install equipment into fixed-wing turbines, propeller aircraft, and rotorcraft. Students will also train to pass the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) General Radio Telephone Operator license. With this training in the Avionics Electronic Technician program, students are prepared for success as an Avionics Technician but have also mastered a larger skill set for rapid career advancement in aviation maintenance.

To enroll, complete an application and attend any required academic orientation and information sessions. Students may enroll in this program at the beginning of the Fall term.

Students meeting all program and graduation requirements receive a diploma.
