The following categories represent the requirements to complete an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree:
- (GEV) General Education: Verbal & Written Communications
- (GEH) General Education: Humanities/Fine Arts
- (GEL) General Education: Literature
- (GEM) General Education: Math
- (GES) General Education: Science
- (GEA) General Education: Science with Lab
- (GEB) General Education: Behavioral/Social Sciences
- (GEU) General Education: US History/Western Civilization
- (GEI) General Education: Information Literacy
- (GEE) General Education: Electives

Associate of Arts Degree (AA)
(GEV) General Education: Verbal & Written Communications (minimum of 9 credits)
Complete each of the following:
Select one of the following courses:
(GEH) General Education: Humanities/Fine Arts (minimum of 8 credits)
(GEL) General Education: Literature (minimum of 3 credits)
Select one of the following courses:
(GEM) General Education: Math (minimum of 3 credits)
Select one of the following courses:
(GES) General Education: Science (minimum of 3 credits)
Students must complete both the lecture and the lab sequence ot fulfill the science general education requirement. (GEA) General Education: Sciences Lab Requirement
(GEM) Math or (GES) Science
In addition to the required Math and Science credits listed above, students must complete two (2) additional credits of Math (GEM) or Science (GES) electives. (GEB) Behavioral/Social Sciences (minimum of 9 credits)
(GEU) General Elective: US History/Western Civilization
Select one of the following courses:
(GEI) General Education: Information Literacy (minimum of 3 credits)
Select one of the following courses:
(GEE) General Education: Electives
Additional Electives:
Complete eighteen (18) credits from GEE or from GEV, GEM, GES, GEH, BEG or GEI. Notes:
*A maximum of 16 semester credits (subject to Registrar approval) may be awarded for some technical education course work. |
